Our History

ANA is designed to review neurosurgery in the most dynamic and interactive manner based on case management by leading world experts. The course will offer up to date literature review of both clinical and basic science in a non didactic style.

This course is mainly designed for Established Neurosurgeons and Senior Trainees. Seasoned neurosurgeons and Junior trainees will find this course as an excellent refresher and a practical review of neurosurgery.

The course aims to help participants focus on examination relevant topics, while deepening their understanding of materials through lectures, discussions and critique. It will provide an excellent preparation for challenging oral board exams such as the Royal College (British,Canadian), EANS and the American board exams or oral boards in your respective countries..

MISSION

Alshafai Neurosurgical Academy is committed to training future leaders and innovators in academic neurological surgery. Our core mission is to foster the development of the cognitive, technical, academic, administrative and humanistic capabilities of our residents and to train them to become highly motivated, confident, and clinically excellent neurological surgeons, equipped to contribute to the advancement of neurosurgery through the improvement of patient care and through the discovery, implementation and evaluation of new treatments and technologies.


GOALS

  • Encourage our residents to become patient-centered neurosurgeons.
  • Develop the individual strengths of our residents.
  • To become highly motivated, well-rounded neurosurgeons who will contribute to the field of neurosurgery.
  • Provide our residents with graduated levels of responsibility in patient evaluation, management and surgery.
  • Help our residents recognize that our specialty, like all fields of medicine, is a work in progress.
  • Teach our residents that patient care is a team effort.
